WHAT TO EXPECT
As new dental patients in Asheville, you can expect a complete and welcoming experience on your first consultation visit with Drs. Highsmith and Jernigan and their team.
Before the consultation, our new patient coordinator will call to discuss what you’re looking for.
At the consultation appointment, we will take you on a tour of the office, pointing out some of the aspects of our practice that makes us different. We will spend time with you discussing your hopes and dreams for your mouth. The best way to communicate dentistry is with photographs, so she will take photographs of your mouth to help you to understand your unique situation and options.
For new dental patients in Asheville, the first consultation is not a comprehensive examination. Many people just want to get an idea of their general options and see if this is the right office for them. By the end of the consult, you’ll have a much better understanding of what’s going on in your mouth and a general idea of your treatment options. You’ll also have a ballpark estimate of treatment costs. For our patients who travel an hour or more to see us, we can consolidate the consult and examination.
The next step, if you decide to proceed, is a comprehensive examination, which includes all necessary radiographs, including a Cat Scan if appropriate. We’ll perform a detailed examination of your mouth to identify any factors that could prevent you from achieving your long-term dental health goals.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you are new dental patients in Asheville and are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 48 hours’ notice. This courtesy will allow us to offer your appointment to another patient. Please call our office for more details.
